1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Sonna mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Sonna is a mobile application that allows you to record audio, transcribe recordings with speaker identification, and generate AI-powered summaries. The App uses Google's Gemini API for AI processing and stores all data locally on your device.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the App. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

4. User Accounts

The App does not require you to create an account. No registration, login, or personal information is required to use the App.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

5.1 Free Tier

The App offers a free tier with limited functionality, including a maximum number of recordings and restricted access to certain premium features such as AI summaries and speaker labels.

5.2 Premium Subscriptions

The App offers the following premium subscription plans:

  • Weekly: Auto-renewing weekly subscription
  • Annual: Auto-renewing annual subscription
  • Lifetime: One-time purchase with perpetual access

5.3 Billing

  • All payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Subscription prices are displayed in the App and may vary by region.
  • Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated by your app store.

5.4 Auto-Renewal

  • Weekly and annual subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • Your app store account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • You can manage and cancel your subscriptions through your device's app store settings.

5.5 Cancellation & Refunds

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to premium features until the end of your paid period.
  • Refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google, as they process all payments. We do not handle refunds directly.
  • Apple users: Request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com
  • Android users: Request refunds through Google Play Help

5.6 Free Trials

If a free trial is offered, you will not be charged during the trial period. At the end of the trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App to:

  • Record conversations without the consent of all parties where required by applicable law.
  • Record, transcribe, or distribute content that is illegal, defamatory, threatening, or violates the rights of others.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App.
  • Use the App in any way that could disable, overburden, or impair the AI processing services.
  • Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the App.
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any access restrictions or usage limitations.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Rights

The App, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by Sonna and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

7.2 Your Content

You retain all rights to your audio recordings, transcripts, and summaries generated through the App. We do not claim ownership of your content. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to process your audio files solely for the purpose of providing the transcription and summarization service.

8. AI-Generated Content

  • Transcriptions and summaries are generated by artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) and may not be 100% accurate.
  • AI-generated content should not be relied upon as a sole source of truth for legal, medical, financial, or other critical purposes.
  • You are responsible for reviewing and verifying the accuracy of any transcription or summary before acting on it.
  • We do not guarantee that the AI service will be available at all times or produce error-free results.

9. Recording Consent & Legal Compliance

You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws regarding audio recording in your jurisdiction. Many jurisdictions require the consent of one or more parties to a conversation before recording. Sonna does not provide legal advice and is not responsible for any legal consequences arising from your use of the recording feature.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
  • The results of AI processing will be accurate or reliable.
  • Any defects in the App will be corrected.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SUMMARYAI AND ITS DEVELOPERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, HOWEVER CAUSED, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.

Our total liability to you for all claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sonna and its developers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

13. Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following third-party services:

  • Google Gemini API: For AI transcription and summarization. Subject to Google's Terms of Service.
  • RevenueCat: For subscription management. Subject to RevenueCat's Terms of Service.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play Store: For distribution and payment processing. Subject to their respective terms.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services. Disruptions to third-party services may affect App functionality.

14. Termination

  • You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms.
  • Upon termination, your locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
  • Sections regarding warranties, liability, and indemnification survive termination.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer resides, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Sonna regarding your use of the App.
